Course Introduction
This course is designed to equip educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively develop and implement transition Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Participants will explore each section of the Transition IEP, including Present Levels, Postsecondary Goals, Transition Assessments, Transition Services and Activities, and Annual Goals. Participants will gain confidence in crafting meaningful Transition IEPs that empower students to achieve their future aspirations.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:- Understand the transition IEP process.
- Know transition IEP Resources.
- Understand what information should be included in the present levels section of the IEP.
- Know how transition assessments are used to garner information that leads to the student’s postsecondary goals.
- Understand how to write quality postsecondary goal statements.
- Know the importance of creating individualized transition services and activities.
- Know how to write quality, measurable, and skill-based annual goal statements.
- Understand how the IEP sections should be aligned.
